Welcome to my new blog; a quiet place for me to reflect on my life as a writer.
As you probably know; I gave up a corporate lifestyle to concentrate on my writing. To do this, I’ve taken a few steps that probably most people would like to take, but haven’t yet had the opportunity. I’m one of the lucky ones.
- I’ve moved to the countryside for as much fresh sea air as possible
- I’ve become self sufficient – this means growing vegetables, fishing, making stuff.
- I started my own social media business – this means I get to hang out at literary festivals and call it work.
In short, I’m having a generally great time, with a few bumps along the way. Pop back from time to time, and you’ll see what I mean…

Looking forward to this blog. 😀
I’m looking forward to you reading it. Hope I don’t disappoint! How’s life treating you? Fewer hairy boats trips, I hope!
Congratulations! And the best of luck with your new ventures. I’m looking forward to reading all about them.
Thanks so much for the encouragement & for subscribing. And for always being so entertaining/supportive on Twitter.
Hooray! And what a lovely, welcoming blog it is too. Congratulations on all your fabulous decisions in 2011 and I look forward to hearing lots of good news from you in 2012. x
You’re always so supportive – it’s really appreciated. Hope the book sales are rocketing. Any book tours coming up that I can go to?
You know ER, I fell in love with you in the first moments of meeting you, (to clarify, in a none sexual way). To me, you are one of life’s gems, that I had the privileged to meet & be-friend. Even if, I don’t see you very often, I know you are there, with your amazing laughter & smile, which shows me, what a magnificent human being you are.
I wish you always LOVE & the very best in all your endevours, for you are such a beautiful human being.
Thanks so much, Trich. It’s difficult to find words to reply to that – other than huge hugs and thanks. Friends like you are very rare.
Hey there, I don’t know who you are but I came across you on Twitter so you’re now on my Google Reader feed. Best of luck with all your writing endevors and BIG CLAP for giving up the corporate ratrace to focus on your writing!
Thank you – giving up the corporate rat race was the best move I ever made. It feels good to be free.
Looks fab. Well done, Elizabeth. Looking forward to many wonderful and interesting blog posts! 🙂
Thanks Derek – hope I can deliver!
Go you! Love the photo, says it all!
Yep – the gorgeous scenery is partly why I moved here. Mind you – your original suggestion of going to Grove House certainly played a part. Guess I owe you big time!
Looking good! And looking forward to many fabulous writerly posts here. 🙂
Thanks Claire; it’s nice to have a blog that you want to write on again! Hope 2012 brings you lots of fabulousness.
I’m green – you’re living my dream! But I’ll get there one day. Love the blog look. Keep it up.
You will, I’m sure. It took about 6 months of deliberation and lots of planning but it finally happened. I’d highly recommend it!
well done to you, we met at an inkwell course in 2009 along with maria duffy, I am thrilled that you are also going from success to success with the little bumps enroute, who doesnt get those!, wishing you continued success in all areas, your unbeat, go get it attitude is a tonic , best wishes for 2012 mary jo x
Hi Mary Jo; how are things going for you? Thank so much for the support. I think what I found most useful at the Inkwell courses was the great friends that you could meet; and the budding talent, of course. Thank you so much for stopping by and make sure you stay in touch. Would love to hear what you’re up to these days.
Hey there girl!! So glad to see this, looking forward to it!! xxx
